What is the Nurturing Program?
The purpose of the Nurturing program is to strengthen families by giving parents and children the tools needed to make a happy home life.The Nurturing program is a ten-week series for the whole family to gain better communication, improve behavior and self-confidence, have more fun together, and share more love, trust and respect. The classes are offered each spring and fall.It is free for all families.
We provide delicious, nutritious snacks and have a fully staffed nursery for children under 4. There are specific classes for elementary-aged children, adolescents and parents. All classes are designed to be interesting, fun and informative.
Children and teen groups have age-appropriate games, activities and discussions that match the parent program. The parent group includes informative topics, discussions, videos and brief interactions that complement material.
Classes on:
Parent Topics: behavior, anger and stress management, importance of praise, family rules, getting parent & child needs met, child development, communication styles, effective discipline techniques, identifying feelings, self-esteem and self-awareness
Adolescent Topics: identifying feelings, eelf-awareness, needs and communication, negotiation, problem-solving, handling stress and anger, dating, love & handling rejection, peer pressure
Children’s Activities: personal power, anger, praise & Self-esteem, art, snacks, play with puppets, games

Expansion/Enhancing Nurturing Parenting Program to better serve parents of infants, toddlers and preschoolers.This new addition will serve only families with children ages 0-6.
