Types of Care
INFANT: 6 weeks–12 months staff: child ratio 1:4 max. group size 8
Our infant classroom has been specifically designed with your infant in mind. It
is conveniently located on the first floor on the right as you enter the
building. The room separates the rest and mealtime areas from changing and play
areas and is equipped with everything your infant needs. We offer a meal program
specific for each infant and parents decide whether to participate in the meal
program and to what degree. Weather permitting, we get our infants outside to
enjoy fresh air and sunshine. Our infant staff takes pride in offering a clean,
safe, loving care environment for your special son or daughter.
TODDLER: 13 mo.–36 months ratio 1:5 or 1:6 maxes. Group size 10
Both our toddler classrooms are full of bright colors, fun learning toys and
plenty of things to do to keep your child busy throughout the day. Our toddlers
are encouraged to explore and grow as we engage with them in conversations that
build their imagination and understanding of the world around them. Our staff
uses creative curriculum to expand our toddler’s experiences each day in social
and cognitive ways. We believe toddlers need lots of hugs and independence. We
offer toilet training when the toddler is ready to take that next step.
We have a special outdoor play area full of safe equipment and toys as well as 2
four-seat buggies for walks in the neighborhood.
PRESCHOOL: 36 months–Kindergarten ratio 1:10 max. Group size 10
We offer preschool education in three age specific classrooms (3yr, 4yr, and
5yr) on a year round basis. We use a curriculum that allows children to expand
their skills in literacy, math, science and music through fun activities indoors
and out to help them get ready for kindergarten. We take children on visits in
the community to learn about the world and just to have fun away from the
center. Our preschoolers also have their own outdoor play area to run, jump,
swing and climb. Teachers conduct regular observations and use this information
to guide each child in individual learning areas. We have several teachers who
are currently completing their Associates degree. We feel strongly that
education for adults and children alike is the key to success.
SCHOOL-AGE: KINDERGARTEN – SEVENTH GRADE ratios will vary due to age
At Children’s Aid Society our school age program occupies the entire third
floor. There are 4 classrooms of various sizes full of games, toys, books and
art materials to be creative. During the school year, we offer before and after
school supervision that includes transportation to all schools located in
Clearfield, breakfast and afternoon snack and supervised home work time. We have
a special outdoor area for school-age children so they can work off all that
excess energy.
We also offer full days when school is not in session, expect for our closed
Holidays. This includes the summer months when we operate a Summer Day Camp.
Families can be enrolled for school year, summer only or both.
Summer camp is three months filled with fun things for school-age
children to choose based on their individual interests. Each month a calendar
could include any of the following; bowling, roller skating, bike hikes, picnics
at Parker Dam and tours of local businesses. We take the children to the
community pool two days each week. Each summer our staff create clubs that focus
learning and fun in areas of children’s interest. Children love to be creative
and we celebrate their creativity daily with various ways for children to
express themselves.
All aspects of our school based programs have one key element, child focused
activities. We want our children to have plenty of opportunity to choose
activities that interesting and of course, fun!
